One Inch Scraps

Look what Cintia has created using 1" wide scraps. Yes, 1" wide scraps. Are you one of those quilters that have a hard time discarding 1" scraps? Yesterday, I was looking in the scrap bin for some pieces of scrap flannel or brushed cotton and said in my out loud voice, "Why do I have all these 1" scraps?". Well, now I know. Oops, it is now a matter of be careful what you ask for.

I have been so busy getting ready for whatever comes along that I have ignored my duties as a blogger.  Here is a little something to show that I have been working.  This is a kit called Hot Shot Daiwabo, done in Daiwabo fabrics of course.  The pattern is by Maple Island Quilts. This kit is available on my website, Quilting Upstairs, under Kits.

Where does time go!

It seems the older I get the faster time goes.  Not enough hours in the day to do everything that needs doing or that I want to do.  I have been working on samples for Quilt Canada 2010 being held  in Calgary at the end of April.  I have a small booth but some super kits to sell.  I have been working very hard to put these together and have a sucessful show.  With help from my buddies we have put together some great ideas and kits.  Don't you love it when you come up with a good idea and you start talking about it and it expands and gets bigger and better.  I will post some pictures soon and you can see what I have been up to.
On a completely different subject my little girl (25 years old) has decided to get married.  We went out and picked her dress and she looks wonderful in it.  Her wedding is very small, probably only 25 guests and she wants to get married in our back yard.  It will be a summer wedding of course as winter in Alberta does not allow for anything but an indoor wedding. More on this subject later.

So don't hold your breathe but I will get those pictures ready.

My first post, very exciting.  I've wanted to do this for a long time.  Had no clue how to begin but I have a good friend who is much more computer literate than I am.
It is very wintery where I live and I am beginning to feel housebound.  Thank goodness for a very nice sewing roomI think I will spend the day upstairs as I need a new "Slash a Stash" for the website.  I am doing it in Daiwabo Fabrics and I'll post a picture as soon as it is ready.
